Abstract

1,246,665. Skirtings. HARTLEY ELECTROMOTIVES Ltd. 6 Oct., 1969 [5 July, 1968], No. 32316/68. Addition to 1,079,411. Heading E1B. [Also in Division H2] A skirting board comprises a back plate 18 for attachment to a wall provided with flanges 21, 24 and a detachable front plate 10 with flanges 12, 13. After the back plate 18 is attached to a wall the front plate 10 is applied, its base resting against a rib 25 on flange 24 and a saw-tooth section rib 16 on flange 13 engaging with a saw-tooth section rib 22 on flange 21. The end 14 of flange 12 is then bent so as to snap over the top of the back wall 18. A removable element is provided to retain electrical conductors or other elongate service elements, the removable element comprising a web 26 and flange 28 the end of the web 26 locating below a retaining flange 23 on the back plate 18. A spring retainer 38 may be provided to press the conductors or other elements on to the web 26. Further conductors or elongate elements may be laid between the flanges 21 and 24. All the constituent parts may be formed as extrusions from synthetic plastics material, e.g. P.V.C., and a further rib may be formed on flange 24 so that the edge of the front plate 10 locates between it and rib 25.
