Abstract

1,244,770. Load handling pallets. H. VOSE, and R. J. ROSE. 13 Dec., 1968 [12 Aug., 1968], No. 59448/68. Heading B8H. An expendable paperboard pallet comprises a deck 12 with a plurality of angled, rectangular apertures 14, an overlay 16 with straps 26, 28, 30 which extend through the apertures 14 to form channels, and feet 34 positioned in the channels to bear against the underside of the deck. The overlay 16 comprises a plurality of trapezoidal shaped load bearing portions 18-24 joined by the strps 26-30 such that when the straps are inserted in the apertures the load bearing portions are in abutting relation to form transverse strips overlying the deck, which strips may be spaced or in abutting relation. The feet are formed from a plurality of layers of paperboard arranged in the vertical plane.
