Abstract
1,243,932. Vibrator conveyers. BURGESS & ASSOCIATES Inc. 28 Jan., 1970 [21 Oct., 1969], No. 4170/70. Heading B8A. A plate 12 for supporting a vibratory conveyer bowl (not shown) is supported by two separate systems, the first comprising four leaf type springs 14, 16, 18, 20 and the other comprising four coil spring assemblies 48, 50, 52, 54. A vibrator 44, preferably pneumatic, is secured to the plate 12. As shown, the leaf springs 14 are clamped to a base 10 and to the plate 12 but their ends may be merely located in slots in the plate and base. The springs are preferably laminations of glass fibre reinforced resinous material but spring steel may be used. The coil spring assemblies, e.g. 54, comprise a support 56 bolted to the base 10 and provided with an inclined face 70 on which is mounted a pair of springs 118, 120. At their inner ends the springs engage a block 110 supported by a lug 102 attached to the plate 12. The springs are adjustably mounted by bolts 76, 84 which engage in threaded brackets 72, 74. A graphical method of determining the inclination of the face 70 for optimum performance of the conveyer is specified, Fig. 3 (not shown). The axes of the coil springs may be horizontal or other than at the inclination corresponding to that of the face 70. The coil springs may be identical.
