Abstract

1,243,571. Fence posts. GOUROCK ROPEWORK CO. Ltd. 25 March, 1970 [25 March, 1969], No. 15454/69. Heading E1B. A fence post for wire fencing comprises a tubular plastics body 1, a rigid ground engaging spike attached thereto and a wire connector comprising two abutting hook elements 4 open in opposite direction. The hooks are half cylindrical in section and have downwardly projecting shanks received within the tubular post. A reinforcement comprises two half collars 8 held together around the post and hooks by adhesive. The abutting faces of the hooks may have interengaging notches and projections, the upper edges being chamferred to allow the hooks to be opened apart. A projection 10 slidable on the post is provided to allow the spike to be pressed into the ground, pressure on the spike locking with relative to the post.
