Abstract
1,240,018. 018. Recording-apparatus MECHANICS FOR ELECTRONICS Inc. Nov.25, 1969, No.57709/69. Heading G1J. Recording-apparatus comprises a lead screw 40 with a plurality of parallel threads 60, 62 ..... of the same pitch engaged by a correspondingly threaded element 42, 44 to produce a trace 52 on paper 10 carried by a roll 12 to indicate variations in a parameter when the screw 40 is rotated in response to an input signal Y representing the parameter and the paper is advanced over the roll 12. The paper 10 may be advanced by rotating the roll 12 in response to an input signal X representing another parameter and both the roll 12 and screw 40 may be under servocontrol in systems including servomotors and feedback potentiometers 32, 54. The multi-threaded arrangement provides a high transmission ratio with minimum backlash, small changes of the input Y producing large movements of the tracing element 44.
