Abstract

1,134,354. Toothed gearing. BETEILIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGS, G.m.b.H. 12 May, 1967, No. 22077/67. Heading F2Q. In a gear mechanism the transmission ratio of which varies in accordance with a logarithmic function, toothed gears 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 are each in the form of a logarithmic spiral 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a and 10a. Each gear is provided with spur gear formations at its ends and gears 2 to 5 are driven from gear 2 at increasing relative speeds by means of spur gears 6, 7, 8 on an adjacent shaft 8. Gear 10 meshes gears 2 to 5 and is moved axially on rotation by the engagement of a radial pin 13 with a helical thread provided on a fixed spindle 11. The pin 13 engages a slot 14 in a driven shaft 12.
