Abstract

1,129,585. Refractory pouring nozzles. STOECKER & KUNZ G.m.b.H. 3 Dec., 1965 [5 Dec., 1964], No. 51416/65. Heading F4B. A pouring nozzle 1, for ladles and similar metallurgical vessels, has a main flow passage 6 closed at its upper end and open at its lower end, and one or more branch inlet passages 7 extending transversely through the side wall of the nozzle into the passage 6. The passages 7 may open at the same level in the main passage 6 or at different levels. They may be inclined to the main passage and arranged symmetrically or asymmetrically thereto. The main passage may be of circular or non-circular e.g. cruciform cross-section. The discharge end of the nozzle is provided with a sliding shutter type stop-valve.
