Abstract

1,129,004. Clear-view screens. GEORGE KENT Ltd. 5 Sept., 1967 [12 Sept., 1966], No. 40679/66. Heading E1R. A clear view screen adapted to be attached externally of a window panel 14 comprises an outer frame 11 surrounding a transparent panel 7 e.g. of glass which supports a rotatable disc 1, the frame 11 engaging the external surface of the window panel 14, as by a sealing ring 23, the frame being releasably secured to the surround 13 of the window, as by a hinge, or by a pair of support elements 15, 16 rigid with the surround 13 and beneath which the frame 11 is held by adjustable screws 20. The disc 1 is rotated by an electric or pneumatic motor by a driving belt 27 on the side of the disc 1 adjacent the panel 14. The disc 1 is displaced away from the edge of the frame 11 engaging the window panel 14 to provide a cavity 31 and includes means such as an electric heater, for heating air circulated in the space 31 by the motor. A bezel ring 34 prevents moisture entering the space 31. The hub 8 of the disc 1 carries a thrust pad 9 which bears against the panel 14.
