Abstract
1,125,965. Coating with metals; zinc alloys. INLAND STEEL CO. Sept. 13, 1965 [Sept. 15, 1964; Aug.27, 1965], No.39054/65. Headings C7A; C7D and C7F. A zinc alloy containing between 1 and 4% by weight of magnesium is used for coating ferrous articles by hot dipping, vapour deposition, electrolytically or powder metallurgy methods. The alloy may also contain from 0À05 to 5.0% by weight of aluminium. The article may be cooled rapidly after hot dipping by a cooling fluid e. g. gaseous nitrogen. Vapour deposition may take place on a continuously moving strip. The following bath compositions are described (% by weight).
