Abstract
1,124,961. Liquid level indication. ELLIOTT BROS. (LONDON) Ltd. May 11, 1966 [May 3, 1965], No. 18512/65. Heading G1H. In a pressure vessel water level measurement arrangement in which an open ended pipe 10, subjected to the head of water in the vessel 2, leads to a differential pressure device through a pipe 8 and a reference column 7 also leads to the differential pressure means the reference column is extended vertically through the water 9 in the vessel 2. The standing head in the reservoir 4, connected to the column 7, is maintained at a constant level and saturation temperature. The level is maintained by condensation, from a steam connection 1, in a chamber 3 arranged externally of the vessel 2. In alternative arrangements the reservoir 4 is arranged in the vessel 1 and the liquid head is kept constant by feed water or condensation from a coil arranged above the reservoir 4. When the reservoir 4 is arranged in the vessel 2 the pipe 7 is fed from a standpipe 33 connected to the side of the reservoir 4.
