Abstract

1,124,191. Advancing mine-roof supports. GULLICK Ltd. 23 Dec., 1965 [15 Jan., 1965], No. 1789/65. Heading E1E. In an advancing mine-roof support comprising two units 10, 11 arranged in tandem the bases 12, 15 thereof are interconnected by a resilient or resiliently mounted tie-bar 22 adapted to restrain the unit 11 from tilting as shown. The tie bar may be restrained by one or more pins or bolts 25, 26 inserted above or below some or else pivotally mounted on the base 12 and bolted to the base 15, see Fig. 7 (not shown). A series of bolt holes may be provided for the members 25, 26 to vary the control required.
