Abstract

In a separable two-part infuser, a stream of hot water, flowing through hole 5 in a lid 6 of an extraction part containing beverage solid, falls on to a starshaped deflector disc 7, to provide an even flow of water through all parts of the beverage solid, which is supported on the perforated bottom 3 of the extraction part 2. The disc 7 is removably or permanently mounted on the lid 6 and the beverage is collected in a receptacle part 1 which supports the extraction part 2.
