[Also in Divisions B8 and F1] Apparatus suitable for mixing solid and liquid manures comprises a pump 3 which draws the liquid through an inlet 11 to a mixing chamber 6, the solid being admitted through a hopper 18 to a worm 5 where it is comminuted before passing to the chamber (6). By means of 3-way cocks I, II the mixed manures can either be fed into a tank 1 for emptying at a later time, passed directly to a outlet 14 or recirculated through the tank 1, worm 5, chamber 6 and pump 3 for additional mixing. The apparatus may be chassis mounted for connection to a tractor. In another arrangement, the materials are fed in opposite directions into a mixing chamber by screw type pumps on a common shaft. The drive, which may include reversing gear, may be from a power take-off on The tractor, or an electricmotor.
