Abstract
Abrasive compositions comprise synthetic diamonds of which 15 to 45% by weight are multicrystalline dispersed in a resin. The diamond grit may be of 200 to 100 Tyler screen size. Specified resins are phenol-aldehyde resins, linear aromatic polyimides (e.g. as in Example III of Specification 986,358), aromatic polyamides or polyamide-imide, wholly aromatic polyketones (e.g. as in Specification 971,227), polybenzotriazoles and aromatic polythiazoles. It is stated that the percentage of multicrystalline diamonds in a sample may be determined by study with a microscope or by X-ray diffraction but no details are given as to the source of suitable samples.ALSO:Abrasive compositions comprise synthetic diamonds of which 15 to 45 wt. per cent are multicrystalline dispersed in a resin (see Division C3).
