Abstract

1,118,765. Web coating apparatus. MAHL & NORMEN A.B. 7 Oct., 1965 [10 Oct.. 1964], No. 42613/65. Heading D1L. A device for applying liquid substance to strip material comprises a magazine 1 for the supply of strip material 2, a guide 11 (Fig. 1, not shown) through which the strip can be pulled from the magazine and a holder 12 adapted to support a container 4 for the liquid to be applied, said container having a delivery nozzle 4' adjacent to one surface of the strip to permit supplying the desired amount of the liquid substance on to the strip as the latter is pulled from the magazine. The container 4 is mounted by a screw thread on a guide block 3 slideable in to and out of holder 12 and the liquid substance is extruded from the container by pressure applied to the container. The magazine 1 has a lid 10 which is held on the magazine by a projection on the block 3 when the latter is in its operative position.
