Abstract
1,118,298. Fusible cut-outs. BASSANI S.p.A. 20 Oct., 1965 [19 Dec., 1964], No 44470/65. Heading H2G. A cartridge fuse comprises a metal or alloy strip (1) (Fig. 1) bent into a cylindrical element and provided with narrower sections a (a<SP>1</SP>), a<SP>11</SP>, and b, (b<SP>1</SP>), b<SP>11</SP> and c, (c<SP>1</SP>), c<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 3, for the branching of the current. The narrower sections are coated with a further metal or alloy of lower melting point which forms a eutectic with the metal or alloy of strip 1 and the cylindrical element is placed in a ceramic casing 4 filled with powdered silica, end terminals 2, 3 being bent over as shown to engage with end caps 9, 10, 11.
