Abstract

1,117,491. Ventilators. I. M. CLARK (Air Devices, Inc.). 27 Aug., 1965 (No. 37003/ 65. Heading F4V. An air diffuser mounted in an aperture 21 in a ceiling B comprises superimposed upwardly concave plates E, F, each plate having radially extending grooves, 30, 33 separated by ridges 31, 34 and the grooves of one plate being angularly offset with respect to the grooves of the other plate (Fig. 2a, not shown). The air outlets between the periphery of the upper plate and the ceiling and between the upper and lower plates are thus of convergent-divergent form so that the air issuing through the outlets is formed into a plurality of radial jets. The upper plate F has a central aperture 29. Each plate may be formed as an eight or four points star (Figs. 3 to 6, not shown) and more than two plates may be provided.
