Abstract

An orally administerable contraceptive composition in dosage unit form comprises, per dosage unit, an estrogenic component in a quantity equivalent to 2000 I.u. (\sB 300) of estradiol and a gestagenic component in a quantity equivalent to 10 I.u. (+ 1.5) of progesterone. The preferred active materials are ethinyl estradiol 3 - methyl ether and 16 - methylene - 6 - dehydro - 17a - acetoxy progesterone.
