Abstract

A plaster composition comprises calcium sulphate hemi-hydrate, hydrated lime and granulated or powdered gas concrete and optionally at least 0.01% by weight of a cellulose alkyl or hydroxyalkyl ether. The gas concrete, which preferably constitutes the whole of the aggregate for the plaster and 50% at least by weight of the plaster, is made by mixing a siliceous and/or argillaceous material with lime and a gas generating agent e.g. aluminium dust in the presence of water and hardening with steam under pressure.
