Abstract
A sole for repairing footwear without removing the old sole has regions of increased thickness in those places where wear is usually greatest e.g. the toe and central part of the sole. The sole may be pre-finished and may have a coating of adhesive on its upper surface. The sole may be made by moulding rubber or plastics material or by reducing the thickness of a leather sole in those regions where the least wear occurs. The sole is stuck directly on to the old sole after the old sole has been roughened.
