Abstract

1,114,80. Hydraulic reciprocating motors. POCLAIN. Oct.7, 1966 [Oct. 8, 1965], No.44919/66. Heading F1A. In a variable-speed hydraulic motor comprising a radial cylinder block 1 rotating on a stationary pintle valve 14, the discharge ports of one group of cylinders in the block communicate with a chamber 14A in valve 14, the discharge ports of another group of cylinders communicate with a chamber 14B and the supply ports of both groups communicate with a chamber 14C, chambers 14A and 14C being connected to discharge and supply passages 14a, 14e, respectively, and chamber 14B being connected to either chamber 14C or chamber 14A according to the setting of a fluid-pressure actuated valve 17, so that one or both cylinder groups are operational. The supply and discharge connections may be reversed by a reversing valve (20) Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The lands of valve 17 have sloping portions 17b, 17c. Sleeve 13 with the cylinder ports 13a to c is fixed to the block 1. A check valve (21) in the main discharge line produces back pressure to maintain the pistons in engagement with cam tracks 12 through rollers 11. The flow of liquid through the non-operational cylinders prevents over-heating.
