Abstract

1,112,159. Thermal switches. THERM-ODISC Inc. 30 Nov., 1965, No. 50835/65. Heading H1N. A thermostat for use in refrigeration, air conditioning or heating devices comprises a snapaction trifurcated blade spring 40 cantilever mounted at one end and carrying a movable contact 40b at the other characterized in that the movement of the snap-action spring is limited to one side of the dead centre position and the spring is moved in response to temperature change in a thermal element. The blade spring 40 is movable between an adjustable stop 50 and an adjustable fixed contact 34 by an insulating slide 52 connected between the spring 40 and an adjustably mounted bimetallic cantilever 54. The centre compressed limb of the spring 4 is urged into engagement with a stop 46 by a spring 44.
