Abstract

1,110,333. Electric resistance-heaters. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 23 June, 1965 [24 June, 1964], No. 26519/65. Heading H5H. A glow igniter for a fuel oil vaporizing burner comprises a U-shaped sheath 3 containing, embedded in MgO powder, an electric heater wire 2 wound in a non-uniform helix to provide maximum heating at the bend. The wire ends are welded to connector pins 11 mounted in the ends of the sheath arms 5, 6. These are mounted in a bore (9), Fig. 3 (not shown), of a housing 8 and secured in a gas-tight manner by a fused glass plug (10). Each arm may be sealed in a separate bore, and may be insulated from the housing. Alternatively, the arms may be mounted in support sleeves connected together by soldered straps.
