Abstract

1,110,074. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 12 Nov., 1965 [14 Nov., 1964], No. 48093/65. Heading H4A. A telescopic aerial comprises two or more sections between each of which there is introduced a two-terminal frequency-dependent network, which is designed to vary the effective aerial length at different frequencies. As described, the nesting parts 1, 2 are formed of plastics tubes with metal braid or other linings applied to their inner walls. At the lower end of the extensible part 2 a metal plug 4 carries an insulating plate 6 from which extends a brush contact 3, comprising bent resilient wires 5, which may either be separate or be joined at their ends in loops (Fig. 2, not shown), and a terminating metal plate 7. A twoterminal network 8, which may comprise an inductor and an attenuator in parallel, is connected between the plug 4 and the plate 7. At the top of the part 1 is an inner ring contact 9, which engages with the brush contact 3 when the part 2 is fully extended. The construction may be modified so that there is contact between the two parts 1, 2 in all their relative positions.
