Abstract

1,105,795. Valves. W. ROTTER. 29 July, 1966 [9 Aug., 1965], No. 34218/66. Heading F2V. A throttling valve adapted to be received in a water tap comprises a screwthreaded annular member 3 having substantially radial apertures 7 opening into an axial bore 4. A cup-shaped valve member 80 is slidable in the bore and is loaded by a spring 10 in the upstream direction in which apertures 82 are fully open: When the tap is turned on, flow takes place through the apertures to the outlet and the valve 80 is moved in dependence on the flow pressure against the spring to control the flow. A screwed plug 60 closes the lower end of the bore and is adjustable to vary the degree of throttling of the apertures 7. A rod 9 is adjustable in the plug to vary the spring loading. The apertures 7 may be replaced by milled slots and a filter 5 may be provided.
