Abstract

1,105,299. Shot-gun cartridge closures. IMPERIAL METAL INDUSTRIES (KYNOCH) Ltd. 3 Nov., 1965 [20 Nov., 1964], No. 47367/64. Heading F3A. A frangible closure for a shot-gun cartridge comprises a disc made from thermoplastics material by an injection-moulding process, at least three radial grooves being formed in one or both circular faces of the disc. The grooves are substantially rectangular in crosssection and have a width between 60% and 180% of the thickness T of the disc, the total depth 2d being between 65% and 90% of such thickness. When grooves areformed in both faces, the grooves in one face are in register with the grooves of the other face. The thermoplastics material may be polystyrene or polymethyl methacrylate.
