Abstract
1,199,982. Protective arrangements. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 16 Aug., 1967 [18 Aug., 1966], No. 37584/67. Heading H2K. Apparatus for indicating short-circuits in electrolysis plants has a plurality of magnetic armatures 5 resilently mounted above the electrodes to be moved due to the magnetic attraction when a short circuit occurs between electrodes (not shown). The armatures may be faced with graphite and when attracted engage a conductor rail 1. In Fig. 2, the armature (not shown) has a contact 13 which engages a conductor 11 when a short-circuit occurs between electrodes 8, 9 and 18. This completes a circuit to a relay 15 which controls an indicating lamp 19 and common hooter 20.
