Abstract

1,199,000. Continuous casting. MANNESMANN A.G. 31 Oct., 1967, No. 49318/67. Heading B3F. To maintain the alignment of a reciprocated mould 1 and stationary frame members 6 on which support rollers 7 are mounted, the members 6 have extended mould-guides 8 passing into openings (9) in a plate 3 (slidably or pivotally mounted on a reciprocating frame 4 for movement transverse to the casting axis) to which the mould 1 with a water jacket 2 is fixed. The two openings (9), one at either side of the mould 1, act as slide bearings or contain rollers to contact the mould-guides 8. The mould cavity may have a straight axis instead of the curved axis indicated.
