Abstract
1,197,689. Bleaching cleanser compositions. PROCTER & GAMBLE CO. 2 Oct., 1968 [2 Oct., 1967], No. 46719/68. Heading C5D. A bleaching cleanser composition comprises (a) a stable compound which is a source of available chlorine in an amount to provide from 0À05-5% by weight of available chlorine, and (b) sufficient sulphamic acid or water-soluble sulphamate to provide a weight ratio of available chlorine to sulphamic acid of from 500: 1- 1:1, the composition having a pH under use conditions of at least 10À5. Optional ingredients are 0-95% by weight of a finely divided waterinsoluble abrasive, 0-10% by weight of a water-soluble anionic, nonionic, zwitterionic, or cationic organic detergent and 0-60% by weight of an alkaline detergency builder. Suitable compounds which provide a source of available chlorine include chlorinated trisodium orthophosphate (Na 3 PO 4 + NaOCl), trichlorocyanuric acid, potassium and sodium dichlorocyanurates, 5,5 - dimethyl - 1,3 - dichlorohydantoin, sodium and potassium benzenesulphonchloramines, sodium and potassium p-toluene sulphonchloramines, sodium and potassium chlorobromo cyanurates, 1-chloro-3-bromo-5,5 - dimethyl hydantoin, N-chlorosuccinimide, trichloro- and hexachloro-melamines and mixtures thereof. Suitable sulphamates include sodium and potassium sulphamates and other watersoluble sulphamates of magnesium, lithium, calcium and aluminium. The composition may also contain an inorganic or organic bromide or a compound which provides available bromine in an amount to provide from 1-150% of bromide ion by weight of the available chlorine when a bromide is present or from 0À5-50% of bromine by weight of the available chlorine when a compound providing available bromine is present. Suitable bromides include sodium and potassium bromides and tetramethyl ammonium bromide, while compounds which provide available bromine include chlorobromocyanurates and dibromosuccinimide. The abrasive may be a finely divided siliceous substance, e.g. quartz, whilst the alkaline detergency builder may be any known in the art, e.g. sodium tripolyphosphates. Additional ingredients specified are perfumes, borax, sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, potassium chloride, potassium sulphate, CMC, alkali-metal hydroxide, sodium silicate. The composition is added to water to give an aqueous composition containing from 0À006- 0À3% by weight of available chlorine.
