Abstract

1,194,666. Valves. CHEMISCHE APPARATEBAU Ltd. 12 March, 1969, No. 12914/69. Heading F2V. A rotary ball valve has the casing 6, ball 8, retaining members 13, 11, spindle 20 and preferably handle 24 cast from a silica-filled epoxy resin to resist chemical attack. The annular seats 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>2</SP> are made of glass-filled polytetrafluoroethylene and an elastic ring 29 compensates for any seat wear during use. The handle 24, which has an integral stop 25 moving in an arcuate housing recess 26, may be replaced by a hand wheel. The handle is secured to the spindle 20 by a nylon screw 33 engaging in an embedded steel insert in the spindle.
