Abstract

1,193,884. Mining machines. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK U. EISENGIESSEREI m.b.H. GEB. 13 Feb., 1968 [15 Feb., 1967], No. 7002/68. Heading E1F. A mining machine 2 is disposed on a carriage 15 which is mounted on a face conveyor 1 for travel therealong, a track 19 and a guide bar 23 being provided which extend beyond one end of the conveyor and are adapted to support the machine and guide it towards the mine face 12. The machine has two drum cutters 4 supported by pivotally mounted arms 3; alternatively it may have a drum cutter non-adjustably supported in the cutter head or by a jib. When the machine travels along the conveyor it is supported at the goaf side by an underframe of the carriage mounted on runners 10 and when the machine moves beyond the end of the conveyor. The underframe and runners 10 are disconnected from the machine and releasably attached' to supports on the conveyor, the machine thereafter being supported by the track 19 and the guide bar 23 and by a track 18. A guide bar connected to the underframe guides the machine as it moves onto the tracks 18, 19 and the guide bar 23.
