Abstract

[Also in Division' F2]r A toy car is driven by a spiral spring which is wound by means of gearing to the driving wheel shaft '17, the gearing also providing the drive of the vehicle. The' driving assembly comprises a frame 21 fixed to the chassis 50 and a bearing member 12 pivotally connected at 11 to the frame 21, a bearing plate 20 and springs 45 and 46. In operation the frame 21 is lowered by pushing downwards on e.g. strut 58, the car is pushed forward causing the gearing to function and wind spring 23. On releasing the pressure, the spring causes the shaft 24 to rotate and operate the gearing to drive the car. The cogwheel 25 is always meshed with cogwheel 29, cogwheel 30 is meshed with cogwheel 33 when shaft 28 is lowered, cogwheel 35 is always meshed with cogwheel 34, cogwheel 18 is always meshed with cogwheel 25 and cogwheel 19 is meshed with cogwheel 34 when the frame is lowered.
