So that loads other than bulk materials may be carried in a vehicle 1, Fig. 2, plates 11, 12, which relieve a longitudinally disposed conveyer 5 of the weight of material, are hinged outwards into the position shown chain dotted, to form a substantially flat floor. Fig. 3 shows an embodiment in which pairs of plates 20, 21, hinged together at 22, are slid outwards about pivot pins 23 to form a flat floor.
