Abstract
1,191,578. Supporting floor shuttering. SCAFFOLDING (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. 27 Nov., 1968 [19 June, 1968], No. 29271/68. Heading B1S. An attachment for the top of an extensible prop to support floor shuttering, or the top of the prop itself, is formed from a rectangular tube. 5, with pins 7 projecting laterally therefrom, and carrying a support plate 10 which can be moved up and down past the pins, or fixed in a position relative thereto. In the preferred embodiment the plate 10 is wedged by a further, lower plate 20 which has lower inclined wedge surfaces 23 and a generally cruciform central hole 21 (Fig. 5, not shown), the plate 20 being capable, when the tube 5 and pins 7 are aligned with the wide end of the hole, of passing up and down the tube, and being movable with a wedging action into the position shown with the tube 5 in the narrow end of the hole. Upward movement of the plate 10 is limited by lugs 14. Flanges 33 can be formed on plate 10 to engage apertures in shuttering beams; alternatively, spaced downwardly tapering pins on the beam ends may engage holes in plate 10.
