Abstract
1,189,891. Terminals; fusible cut-outs. SIMPLEX-GE MFG. Ltd. 29 Feb., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 5058/67. Headings H2E and H2G. [Also in Division H1N] A conductive terminal member 18 (Fig. 9) (which may also be a socket contact co-operating with contact member 13 of a fuse carrier) has a conductor clamping member 24 movable by a screw 26 co-operating with anchoring member 25 which is secured by anchorage formations in 18. The anchoring member 25 may be a square nut and may be held against movement in one direction along the channel 19 by a locating plate 25a with a flange 25b. The member 24 may be of ferrous material or coated with insulating material and a locking washer 30 is arranged thereon as shown. The terminal member 18 is cut from extruded bar which may be provided with channels 34 to take contact arms 35 and springs 41 of a fuse carrier contact member 13. The member 18 may be held frictionally in position in a fuse base by bowed springs (74, Fig. 5, not shown) having inturned ends (75) fitting into slots 42. It may be clamped to a busbar 17 (Fig. 1), by a bolt 71 through its base or may have a threaded terminal member 76 (Fig. 8) screwed into its base 15 and projecting from the under-surface of the fuse base. The fuse base may be in two parts 43, 44 (Fig. 1), the upper part 44 having shrouding walls 49, 50.
