Abstract

1,187,365. Friction clutches. RIFF INDUSTRIA FRENI FRIZIONI S.r.1. 29 Nov., 1968 [1 Dec., 1967; 15 June, 1968], No. 56814/68. Heading F2C. In a friction, clutch having a disc spring 11, Fig. 2, deformation of the spring is aided by fulcra 17, 16 which are formed respectively on a strap 18, riveted to the clutch cover 3 and on the cover itself. The straps 18 are located in radial slots in the pressure plate 10 and pass through holes 21 in the cover. Straps 14 hold the spring in contact with the pressure plate 10 and ventilating holes 27 are provided in the cover 3. In a second embodiment, Fig. 8, the spring 11 is attached to the cover 3 and pressure plate 10 by projections 31 carried by the fulcra 16, 17. The projections 31 are formed by embossing one of the fulcra or by riveting them together in such a way as to permit axial movement. A spring 33 with clip-portions 34 holds the disc 11 in contact with the pressure plate 10.
