Abstract

1,185,661. Hammer mills. P. B. BETTINSON & CO. Ltd. 30 May, 1967 [1 June, 1966], No. 24348/66. Heading B2A. Apparatus for destroying unwanted raised potatoes or root crops comprises a disc 1 with pivoted arms 6 and an oppositely rotatable cooperating drum 11. Arms 6, 6a are provided on opposite sides of the disc, and alternate arms on each side have "T" pieces 8 at their ends. The drum has a plate, as 14 at each end, and is cleaned by a scraper 15 the apparatus may be incorporated in a root crop harvesting machine. Waste potatoes are guided into the apparatus by a grill 16 and side plates 17. (For Figure see next page)
