Abstract
1,183,630. Core constructions for reluctance machines. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 13 Dec., 1968 [14 Dec., 1967], No.56865/67. Heading H2A. A reluctance-type dynamo-electric machine as in Specification 1,114,562, has thin layers 6 of non-magnetic material interleaved with the stacks of rotor laminations 5 which are of anisotropic magnetic material. The layers may be of copper or aluminium and provided as coatings on the laminations. The stacks may be cut from a composite roll of the layers 6 and grain overfed anisotropic material, inverted, assembled to a shaped hub 7 and machined to cylindrical form. In modifications, the stacks are bent, curved or straight and divided radially into sections by conductive material (Figs. 3-7, not shown).
