Abstract

1,182,751. Buckles. F.D.T.S. Ltd. 29 April, 1968 [24 Jan., 1968], No. 3831/68. Heading E2A. A buckle comprises first and second elements 11, 7, the second element 7 being fixed to a plate 6 having a slot therein serving for passage of a first strap (not shown), being adapted to pass through an aperture in each of a number of further straps 3-5 to connect the first strap when passed through said slot and the further straps together, and having a bore 10 therein adapted to receive the first element; the first element 11 being in the form of a locking pin which serves, when in its locking position, to prevent said second element being withdrawn from said apertures, the locking pin having a straight portion 11A and a hooked portion 11B which extend side-byside, and the arrangement being such that upon said straight portion being pushed into said bore, the outer surface of said second element cams the hooked portion away from the straight portion to permit the straight portion to pass through said bore whereafter the pin can be turned with respect to said second element to place the hooked portion in a position in which it co-operates with said second element to prevent the straight portion being withdrawn from said bore unless the pin is again turned with respect to said second element to a position from which it can be withdrawn from said bore with the hooked portion being cammed outwardly once more by said outer surface of said second element. The element 7 is secured to the plate 6 by two nuts 8, 9.
