A tamper proof stick-on label 11 has lines of weakness 14 so that upon removal from a surface an area 13 remains attached to the surface. The adhesive may be a pressuresensitive self adhesive. The labels may be issued in rows or columns on a release base 12, e.g. silicone surfaced material, to prevent removal of of the area 13 before use.
