Abstract

118,130. Fallows, R. Dec. 27, 1917. Pen-point protectors.-A closed tube a formed in two halves hinged together at b is withdrawn by a spring e to uncover the rib when spring catches f are pressed together by means of thumbpieces g, the two halves of the tube simultaneously opening out owing to the engagement of extensions h of the catches f in grooves i in the tube. One end of the spring e bears against a bead k on the pen and the other end against one end of the tube a. In a modification (not shown), the extensions h and grooves i are dispensed with, and each half of the tube is provided with an inclined surface adapted to cooperate with the bead k.
