In a tractor-semi-trailer combination, the wheels 5 of the trailer are driven by hydraulic motors 8 through gearing 6, 7, the motors being supplied with pressure fluid through flexible tubes 9, 10 from a pump 11 mounted on the trailer and drawing fluid from the tractor. The pump is driven from the tractor power take off 13 through a clutch 12.
