1,180,421. Cycle bearing arrangements. F. F. KLEIN. 27 Feb., 1967, No. 9242/67. Heading B7E. A cycle frame part, e.g. a steering head comprises, a tube 22 mounting ball races and supporting an inner rotatable member such as a fork stem 24, a bearing core 44 mounting a pin 54, and a locking tab washer 56 provided with holes 58, any of which holes may engage with the pin 54 so that at least some of the other holes 58 are aligned or partially aligned with the holes 52 in the bearing cone to provide bearing oil holes. The washer 56 is held down by a nut 61. In Figs. 5-7 (not shown), the tabbed locking washer is provided with a finger (54a) engaging in one of the holes (52a) in the core. In Figs. 8-11 (not shown), the locking washer is provided with a polyhedral skirt which may be engaged over the polyhedrat head faces of the bearing cone, thus rendering pins such as 54 and (54a) unnecessary but providing means for aligning the holes for oiling purposes. In Figs. 12, 13 and 14 (not shown), the bearing cone is diametrically slotted to co-operate with a locking washer provided with depressions, and in Figs. 15 and 16 (not shown) an integral pedal crank-shaft is provided with a sprocket wheel which acts as a locking washer to the cone and is provided with similar oil holes.
