Abstract

1,178,230. Centrifugal and axial-flow fans. L. BAUMANN. Jan. 3, 1967 [Nov. 30, 1966], No. 45991/ 69. Divided out of 1,177, 612. Heading F1C. [Also in Division F4] In a ventilating fan unit insertable into a partition or window and providing non-interfering streams of air simultaneously in both directions through the partition there is provided an axial-flow fan 17 and a radial-flow fan 17<SP>1</SP>; in a second embodiment, the radial-flow fan blades are mounted on a shroud carried by the tips of the axial fan blades. As described in the parent Specification the unit may comprise two apertured discs 18, 25 the latter being rotatable to act as a valve to control the flow through the radial-flow fan and the axialflow fan. The disc 18 also has a recessed central portion on which the fan and its motor are mounted. In the second embodiment, the fan and motor are mounted on the casing 11.
