Abstract

1,175,831. Cleaning floors and windows. G. BROCK. 9 Jan., 1967 [11 Oct., 1965], No. 43017/65. Heading A4F. A squeegee comprises a rubber or like blade 13, a back support 10 for the blade, a clamping member 14 between which and the back support the blade is sandwiched and a tubular handle 12 attached to the back support, the handle being inclined from the normal to the scraping edge of the blade and being connectable to a source of water supply so that water is discharged in front of the blade. The support 10 and the member 14 are made of metal or plastics, the support 10 having a spigot 11 to which the handle is attached. A plate 15 provided with a slot or hole forms, in conjunction with the member 14 and a pair of end plates, a duct 16. A valve (not shown) may be provided to control the water flow to which detergent or disinfectant may be added and the blade may be grooved along the edge. In a modification, the blades are parallel and are mounted perpendicular to a back plate. The duct may be formed in the rubber blade and suction apparatus may be provided when the squeegee is used in areas from which drainage is difficult.
