Abstract

1,175,711. Floor or ceiling framework. ANTHES IMPERIAL Ltd. 23 Feb., 1967, No. 8643/67. Heading E1K. A framework for a floor comprises two sets of parallel lattice girders crossing one another, one set of girders 20 having openings opening upwardly with which the other sets of girders 14 is engaged so that the lower chords 16, 19 abut and the girders are then fixed in position. Straps 22 are provided at the sides of the opening and plates 24 on the upper chords of the girders 20 are bolted to plates on the sides of the upper chords of the girders 14. In a modification, to facilitate transport of the girders 20 before assembly, a channel connects the two parts of the upper chord at each opening in the girders 20, the struts 22 are omitted and diagonal struts welded to the bottom of the channel are tack-welded to the lower chord. For assembly, the channels are removed by unbolting and breaking the tack welds which are eventually permanently welded on assembly.
