A panel element comprises at least one corrugated or grooved element 1 consisting of a thin sheet 2 of a strong material interposed between and stuck to two sheets of paper 3a, 3b, the element being interposed between and stuck to two covering elements 5a, 5b, which may be of cardboard or plastics material. The strong material may be aluminium, steel, or polyvinyl chloride and is stuck between the paper sheets by an adhesive based on sodium silicate.
