Abstract

1,018,175. Unwrapping sheet material. ROHM & HAAS CO. Aug. 4, 1964 [Aug. 2, 1963], No. 31673/64. Heading B8C. [Also in Division B5] Sheet material 10, such as plastic or metal sheet, is drawn between the nip of two driven rollers 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, so that partially detached masking 11<SP>1</SP> which has been adhered to the surface of the roller 1<SP>1</SP> is wound on to it. The other side of the sheet may be similarly de-masked by the roller 2<SP>1</SP>. The rollers may be pivoted in floating relation to each other, the drive 7 being used as a counterweight or the lower one stationarily mounted. Limit switches may stop the drive whilst pressure sensitive tape is applied to bridge the masking on adjacent sheets 10, 10<SP>1</SP>.
