Abstract

1,173,009. Toolholders. DENTATUS A.B. 5 Dec., 1966 [17 Dec., 1965], No. 54393/66. Headings B3B and B3K. A holder for a cutting tool 2 comprises rings 4 of a resiliently deformable material, e.g. synthetic rubber, spaced by a rigid sleeve 9, and means, e.g. a screw cap 7, for axially compressing the rings so that the latter are radially-inwardly deformed to grip the shank of the tool. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the sleeve 9 and rigid sleeves 5 and 6 are dimensioned so that the tool shank may pass through the sleeves with radial clearance.
