Abstract

1,172,403. Liquefied gas storage containers. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. 20 March, 1968 [19 April, 1967], No. 17894/67. Heading F4P. The inner end of the gas-discharge valve 12 of a liquid carbon dioxide container is secured to a length of tubing 13 which extends to near the bottom end of the container and is then double-backed on itself and terminates in the middle of the container where it is provided with an automatic pressure drop valve 15 which when valve 12 is opened is forced off its seat 19 against a spring 20 to allow passage of gas and liquid into tubing 13, part of the liquid being vaporized by the pressure drop and the remainder of the liquid being vaporized by heat withdrawn from the main body of liquid carbon dioxide prior to said pressure reduced gas arriving at the valve 12. A filling valve 22 is provided at the bottom of the bend 21.
